Has social constructionism about race outlived its usefulness? Perspectives from a race skeptic

Abstract The phrase ‘social constructionism about race’ is so ambiguous that it unable to convey anything very meaningful. I argue the various versions of social race are either false, overly broad, or better described as anti-realism biological race. One central rhetorical purposes has been serve an alternative racial realism. However, most compatible with realism, and there some scholars who endorse both positions. Going a step further, David Reich recently defended hereditarianism. While Reich’s defense hereditarianism unconvincing, show indeed we ought replace constructionist “consensus” view no races, only racialized groups.
